Omar Waqar is a Pakistani-American musician and a visual artist who Is most known for fronting the Washington DC based Alt/Punk/Funk/Taqwacore band Diacritical. Omar is a Vocalist Guitarist and Sitarist Who studied Songwriting at Berklee college of music Boston. He is also the man behind the experimental electronic project Evilartform. He began producing Hip-Hop, Drum and Bass, Jungle, and Experimental Electronica under that name around 1999. That project has since evolved into many various recordings and has been featured in film and as background music as well as bred collaborations with many underground emcees. He has also been in a wide variety of bands in the Washington DC area, currently fronting the mystical dance-punk band Sarmust. In the past he co-produced Diacritical with Don Zientara of Inner Ear Studios. He has appeared on The BBC and VOA, MTV, NBC, and has been in LA Times, Newsweek, Rollingstone... Featured at Sundace, Festival Nouveau Cinéma and more...
